Central Coast Veterans Helping Veterans

CCVHV provides mentoring to Veterans, helping them to navigate Veterans Treatment Court and other challenging situations. Occasionally, due in part to their traumatic military experiences, some of our local Veterans end up in the criminal justice system when they return home and attempt to re-adapt to civilian life. Highly trained, compassionate CCVHV mentors collaborate with several local government agencies (Superior Court, Sheriff’s Office, Probation, Mental Health, Veterans Administration Health, etc.) to help shepherd Veterans to a positive conclusion. The involved agencies and CCVHV share the mutual goal of rehabilitating Veterans and reducing recidivism. Mentors strive to realize a positive outcome for each, and every Veteran, and through the SLO County Veterans Treatment court our success rate in avoiding recidivism is 95%. Veterans receiving mentoring from fellow Veterans is particularly effective and often experience better clinical outcomes and feel more socially connected. Mentorship is the core of our programs, and we need Veterans to mentor our Veterans who are in court rehabilitation. (Location SLO - RSVP)
